I'm trying to display the value of a cell in a chart title bar. Easy enough using the code =Sheet1!Y10 for example. But i want this value surrounded by text in the title so it updates itself. i can't find a way round of mixing text with a formula, have searched all over but nothing gives a clue. i'm guessing you have to do a bit of visual basic. as soon as you put text, be it surrounded by speech marks (" or ') the cell is deemed to be text not a formula. Any ideas?

You can mix text & formulas

Code:
="My text " & Sheet1!Y10

Thanks degsy, it nearly worked but found a work around. Seems you cannot put text and a formula directly into a chart title. So i put the formula in a cell with text:

= "Goals - Per Game (" & Y10 & " Total)" (cell zc17)

and then refered the chart title to this cell

=Sheet1!$AC$17

Its works, thanks, spent f'ing ages trying to solve that one.
