How do I export a MySQL database using my plesk control panel?

Navigate your way to the database admin page, then click the "DB WebAdmin" button. Click on the name of your database in the column on the left, and then on the "Export" tab at the top of the page. It should be plain sailing from there.

If you're importing the data into MySQL server on your local system, you might need to tell it which character set to use when reading the file, e.g.:

$ mysql -uuser -ppassword --default-character-set=utf8 my_db <my_db.sql
