http://www.togneri.net/proof/ - content-wise it speaks for itself, but how is it design-wise?

And for the CSS, I'm wondering what's the best way to do the CSS validation bit - I want to have it in a seperate box floating below the navigation box. Any ideas? I'm playing with a couple of things but I'm still coding HTML and CSS in Notepad (old sk00l) and I'm not *so* good at CSS yet anyway...

Oh, and it validates just fine for XHTML 1.1 and CSS.

That's intentional - it's a design element and like I say, it validates to W3C standards.

Just because it validates doesn't mean its good design...

Okay, that's more like what I was after - design opinions. So you think that overlapping those areas looks crap? I should go with a more seperated layout?

(There's a difference in my mind between saying something looks bad because it's technically wrong and saying it looks bad aesthetically.)

I don't like the aesthetics.

I'm trying to think of a real world example.... but I can't think of anything where one menu `gets in the way` of another. I suppose its like giving an LCD display that measures 30x10mm and then covering up 10x7mm on the justification that you don't plan to use that part of the display anyway... In my opinion, it doesn't look right.

That's fine, I think I get what you mean - spaces which are meant to fulfil a function and be kept seperate. Thanks for the feedback anyway, I'll have a think about it!
