Posted: Tue Apr 03, 2012 3:05 pm Post subject: Thunderbird settings and SMTP delays
Just upgraded to the most basic ProHosting (36Hrs ago).
Reasonably smoothly, despite my impatience - sorry Support
But just getting email working reliably took a while.
Now using these settings http://www.callear.net/ForumTinyPics/SMTP-0.png and http://www.callear.net/ForumTinyPics/SMTP-1.png
Perhaps different setting might work better but, though IMAP receive is fine and near instant, SMTP out is subject to annoying delays of 5 to 25 mins - and never the ‘near instant’ response I’d get at home using my ISP SMTP server. Typical Headers below.
Anything I can do about this?

BTW I had to remove some lines from that example else I got this error
